Madeline, a pure-body, crunchy chick is preparing for the birth of her first child with her husband, who is reluctant to her use of a midwife, but supportive nonetheless. As it turns out, Madeline's midwife is Patricia, her ex-girlfriend from college. Madeline "went straight" to pop out a kid, and Patricia is still very attached; much to her current girlfriend's dismay, she still keeps pictures of the two of them together. But, the dyke drama is put on the back burner when a terrible accident leaves Madeline a widow and with a lifeless baby inside her.
Things get a lot weirder than just ex-girlfriends delivering babies when Madeline carries her dead child, Grace, to term then miraculously wills her back to life. She then begins to notice that something just isn't right with little Grace (hmm, a dead baby brought back to life -- ya think!?!?). Madeline's motherly instincts go into a horrifying overdrive when she desperately does anything to keep her child. Both the baby and the mother are consequently turned into monsters, and Patricia shows up at the end to be a part of the demented family.
