A startling and revealing documentary on Chaz Bono, who grew up in front of television and music audiences as Chastity Bono. This documentary covers Chastity's coming out as a lesbian and realizing that wasn't who he really was: rather, he was a man trapped in a woman's body. This doc follows Chaz's partial transition (at the time of filming, Chaz has undergone "upper" surgery and hormone therapy, but not "lower" surgery and claims he has no current intention to do so). Chaz varies from sympathetic to unsympathetic, just like every other real human being on the face of the earth.
His girlfriend, a lesbian who started seeing Chastity, says it's like dating your girlfriend's brother. While I am not convinced that, at the time of filming, she was 100% behind the transition, her realistic attitude and honesty provide excellent insight.
