Maybe Almodóvar ignited it, but recently, no single country has produced such visually inventive, explosively fun and adventurously polysexual romps as Spain. And this musical/romantic comedy is a great example, with its raucous fun for both lesbians and gay men! In ultra-hip Madrid, sex (and sexual partners) can be very complicated (and fluid) for two straight couples and their friends. Wild-haired Pedro is in love with nightclub chanteuse Raquel, while their best friends Javier and Marta are set to be married. What seems the epitome of heterosexual bliss proves to be only a thin façade when the two ladies, engaged in a secret romance, slip into the restroom and make torrid love. Unable to marry because of her love for Raquel, Marta dumps Javier at the altar. Heart-broken, Javier moves in with Raquel and Pedro, creating a situation in which stifled passions and messy secrets are unleashed and sexual order is thrown into chaos. This slick, effervescent and fast-paced romantic sex farce features wild musical numbers and a great supporting cast with some of the best young talents in Spanish film.
